Promises

Matthew 18:4

"You're acting like a little baby!" "When are you going to grow up already?!"
These are phrases that we have probably all heard or said at some point.
And they aren't compliments (obviously).

But Jesus has a different view on what it means to be a child. He points to children as the perfect example of humility, trust, and simplicity. He says that no matter what age we are, we need to be like little kids at heart. ♥

Jesus wants us to be childlike, not childish. To be childlike is to have the same kind of naive trust and wonder as a child has. On the other hand, to act childish is to act or misbehave like a little child does.
They are two very different things!

Close your eyes and imagine yourself as a little girl, sitting on Jesus' lap and leaning up against his chest. Ask him to wash away all your pride and independence and mistrust and unfaithfulness that leads you away from him and keeps you from coming back. Ask him to help you have a childlike dependence on him.
Then watch as the kingdom of God comes alive in your heart!!! ♥
